For many years Open Gardens has enhanced community life by supporting organisations within the village and this year your organisation was chosen to receive half the net income from our annual event. Anyone in the village can make a suggestion but only openers and help organisers from the immediate past Open Gardens are eligible to vote.

The income depends on many things so it is difficult to predict how much we might raise but if you look at the list of past recipients you will see that it could be reasonably significant. To some extent the outcome depends on you to. It is important that you help by mobilising your own supporters perhaps by:

Including our event on your websiteIf if you have one.
Distributing our poster, which may be downloaded here, to other orgainisations you come into contact with and to garden centres etc.
Including our event in any newsletters you send out.
Near the time, directly reminding your supporters by email.

In preparation for the weekend many folk make an effort to tidy the village, including the litter pick organised by the parish coucil, please encourage this community effort within your organisation. Help is needed to fulfill various functions over the weekend itself; sometimes even a few minutes spent moving tables is a great help, so if possible, try to deserve your gift from Open Gardens by helping.

After the event we will arrange for one of the people who nominated your organisation to present you with your share in one of the gardens that opened.
